How do you know? With so much information available, it can be hard to know which approach to take. Listen, believe me I know, losing weight can be very difficult, however, with the right tools and mindset, you can turn your body from flab to fab in just a few months!
Let’s begin the journey to fab! They say that the first step in solving a problem is the realization that there is a problem. So, let’s begin by understanding obesity and where we are to understand how much change we need to reach our ideal weight. Currently, it is estimated that one third of the US population is now overweight. Even more daunting is that, according to the latest Gallup Poll, the average person attempts to lose weight an average of seven times in their lifetime. So let’s be clear, we are not alone and losing weight might be a difficult task. But,we can do it! You can do it!
Real Weight Loss Basic Tools
There are three basic tools you will need to succeed in achieving true permanent weight loss. These are basic tools that will later help you map out a plan from where you are now with your weight, BMI and health conditions to where you want to be. Use the links to get to the tools and calculators, complete the surveys and print your results.
First: Knowing Your BMI: Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height, weight and age that applies to adult men and women. Tracking your BMI will become very important during your weight loss journey. You must know where you are in terms of your BMI to help map out a plan to get you where you want to be in weight. Second: The 3 keys to successful permanent weight loss. Successful weight loss is not just sweating and counting calories. In-fact , it starts in your mind. I recommend the book “Weight Loss Starts In Your Brain” that expands this idea beautifully but here is a brief summary.
- Consistency: The first key to successful weight loss is having a plan that works for you. Not one plan fits all, as we are all unique in our own way. Whether you prefer sweating up a storm in a physical fitness exercise group class or maybe following a dietary meal plan or medical procedures to lose weight, there are plenty of options to help you on your weight loss journey. Once you find what motivates your style, stick with it. Losing weight requires consistent effort over time. You need to stick to your plan and make healthy choices day in and day out, even when it’s difficult.
- Mindset: The second key is your mindset. Your attitude, your thoughts, and even the words you say out loud play a critical role in achieving your weight loss goals. To get that fabulous body, you need to visualize it first in your mind. See it as a real possibility for you and believe it can be achieved. Then, work on your weight loss plan consistently. You need to have a positive attitude, speak the words loudly “Yes, I can do this,” believe in yourself, and be willing to make the necessary lifestyle changes to reach your desired weight.
- Support: Finally, the third key is having a strong support system. A strong support system can make all the difference when it comes to successful weight loss. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or professional coach, having someone to encourage and motivate you can help keep you accountable and on track. Whether you’re a lone wolf or the center of the party, we all need support. It takes a village!
Finally: A Personal Weight Loss Plan: Let’s be honest. Weight loss is a personal thing. Generic one-size fits all weight loss plans are useless if they don’t agree with your lifestyle and personality. That’s right, you are an individual with your own likes and dislikes. So why is your weight loss plan not personal? One size fits all doesn’t work for everyone. We created a FREE weight loss evaluation survey. Take the FREE 9-question survey. Your answers will reveal your personality type and point you in the right direction to designing your ideal weight loss program.
